USB at the device.
Connect one GHL controller directly, or connect up to three supported controllers to a single ESP32 using an inexpensive powered USB 2.0 hub. The bridge connects to your local Wi-Fi.
Update your main GHL controller over local Wi-Fi, or update a supported PAB device in place with the rest of the chain connected. Tested update paths restart the device by software, so there’s no manual power cycle during a normal update.

Connect one GHL controller directly, or connect up to three supported controllers to a single ESP32 using an inexpensive powered USB 2.0 hub. The bridge connects to your local Wi-Fi.
Access the bridge from your phone or computer, with a straightforward interface to guide the update.
Choose the main controller or a supported PAB target in the browser. Follow the transfer and verification, then let the device restart by software on tested paths. Manual power cycling is available as a recovery fallback.
An inexpensive powered USB 2.0 hub lets you connect up to three supported GHL controllers to a single Sentinel Flash ESP32 bridge.
Keep your controllers connected and choose which one to manage in the browser. Each controller can also provide access to its supported PAB accessories. Updates run on one selected controller or PAB device at a time.
Use one powered hub connected directly to the bridge. Device compatibility and PAB relay requirements still apply.
The bridge connects by USB to the main device, and you run the update from a browser over Wi-Fi. In-place PAB updates depend on the controller, the target device, and compatible relay support on any intermediate devices.
Firmware update, verification, software restart and settings restore, tested on a USB hub. Additional variants, including the pump controller, still need testing.
Connects and reads on a USB hub. Firmware updates and restores are off in this beta.
Connect it directly to the bridge. Firmware update, verification and software restart. This controller can also update supported PAB accessories without disconnecting them from their bus. All Doser actions are off on a USB hub until that has been tested.
Stock 7.53 reinstall with full flash verification and software restart, tested on a USB hub. This controller can also update supported PAB accessories without disconnecting them from their bus.
Tested with Doser 2/2.1 EXT, Maxi 2.2 EXT and ION Director. Compatibility depends on the devices along the PAB path.
Mitras LX7 — next lighting target. Its USB update and restart workflow still needs bench validation.
Other models, including Mitras LX6, LX8 and Lightbar, ProfiLux 4e and 4.1, and Doser 3, have no confirmed support listed here.
Tell me which GHL devices you use. I’ll get in touch when there’s a suitable opportunity to test.

Check the device compatibility section above before registering. Firmware access is coordinated through the beta.
Sentinel Flash focuses on updating the GHL device’s firmware through its USB connection. Device firmware and the device’s Wi-Fi module firmware are separate.
Recovery tooling is part of Sentinel Flash’s scope. It supports the main goal of straightforward wireless firmware updates; recovery features and supported recovery states are still being developed.
